A. We take the same approach to every application/product we build. At the core of all our applications are the three fundamental qualities.

Security

The system must be secured on at least three levels. The first is encrypting the data transfer. This can be done using SSL or VPN technology. The second is authenticating the user signing on. This can be done via LDAP, Windows or a simple userid/password token. The third level is validating that a user has access or authorization to view the data presented.

Accessibility

The system must be accessible from different devices. The most common way of accessing a web application is still the web browser, but that is changing. More and more devices have the ability to connect to the Internet and all view the web in a different way. That's why the framework we use allows developers to make their content available to a host of devices, including cell phones and PDAs (via WML - Wireless Markup Language or cHTML) as well as home telephones (via VXML - VoiceXML). By making your information available to more devices, you give your users options.

Flexibility

Many times, the application you built is required to grow or to change based on business or user needs. Your system needs to be flexible and adapt to these changes. The core of Dashboard is written in CFCs (ColdFusion Components), separating all the business logic from presentation. The same way we're able to create different interfaces like VoiceXML and cHTML, yet still re-use the same business objects is the same flexibility that will allow you to change the look and feel of the application with minimal effort.
